I read the NYTimes for fun. I am especially interested in what people like to share from the NYTimes -- the most emailed and most blogged items are generally what I read first. Really, I ought to read everything I can for free (and then steal a real paper to read the stuff I can't get online) but I haven't the discipline. Yet. Next semester? FOCUS.
But, anyway, I came across this, and thought everyone who ever plans on getting married should read it. And because the NYTimes has this awful habit of archiving stories and locking them away forever, I decided that I shall C&P this here.
Questions Couples Should Ask (Or Wish They Had) Before Marrying
Published: December 17, 2006
( Relationship experts report that too many couples fail to ask each other critical questions before marrying. )
The related article, printed the same day, is just as interesting. (Marriage Is Not Built on Surprises By ERIC V. COPAGE, December 17, 2006) It talks about a Marriage Encounter class required to get married in the Catholic church in which as many as 2/3s of couples hadn't discussed such questions as when they were going to have children.
Kids. Don't get married without figuring out what that means.
