So, this weekend was a really good one.

Friday, after six hours of training ducklings, I treated myself to a hair cut. Basically, it's just three inches shorter. But since my hair was beginning to drive me crazy, I call it an improvement. Plus, I promised myself a hair cut a long long time ago for being productive, and I delivered.

During my shift, Josh came and borrowed my keys so he could pack for Caitlyn. He was going to kidnap her directly from class, but that didn't work out so hot. ;D I believe she made him hold off on kidnapping her until she could make sure that he packed everything she needed.

After the hair cut, I came home to an empty dorm. (sad!)But I knew it was okay because Caitlyn was getting proposed to, and that made me very excited.

Worked on Saturday morning, got 3 pages of my rough draft done. Had a fabulous lunch with Alex, Bridget, and Alicia. Took a nap, wrote another 4 pages of draft. Began to sink exactly how many people I had told that Caitlyn was getting proposed to, and I began to be really nervous.

What if Josh chickened out? What if Caitlyn said no? I'd have to do DAMAGE CONTROL, and fast. Seriously. So, I was a bit stressed about that (As well as my feelings about having written the worst draft ever....), but Tim came and talked me down.

Then we made a cameo at the Sushi Palace Ball. I said I'd go, and I didn't want to break a promise. Then Tim and I took a walk, and I kissed him by Beaumont Tower, which makes me an official Co-Ed. (Or so says the legend. ;D) Tim and I also went to see if we could find the bomb damage at Brody. No such luck, I don't think.

Next morning, I learned to open the banks. (Yay, I'm a supervisor with power!) And then I went back to sleep. At lunch time, when Tim and I woke up, we went to eat, and then we explored the gardens.

When we were in the gardens, Caitlyn called! She was engaged, and that was good news. And I admitted to her that even though she didn't know, I had told a lot of people. She thought it was funny, thank goodness, and was really impressed with everyone's secret keeping skills. (I think that it makes for a better story.)

Then Tim and I went to the Steven Lynch Concert, which was a lot of fun. If you ever get a chance to see him, I'd hop on it -- he's amusing, and you don't have to know his body of work. Because he's a really clear singer. His kick this time was the fact that he used to be on Broadway.

So, all in all, it was a v. good weekend.

And now, to complete my spamming...

Caitlyn: I will probably call you tomorrow?
Caitlyn: Before you leave.
Me: Okay. :D
Caitlyn: For Oklahoma.
Me: I don't leave until 5 on Wednesday.
Me: And cell phone and lappy are coming.
Caitlyn: ...OH RIGHT.
Caitlyn: You can have your phone there.
Caitlyn: IT IS ON THIS CONTINENT.
Me: YES.
Me: Signal may be in short supply.
Caitlyn: ....don't question where my logic was, please?
Caitlyn: Because...wow.
Me: Hahaha.
Me: <3
Me: I am v. confused by it too.
Caitlyn: It was like, "Kate, airplane, OMG NO TALKING FOR DAYS."
Me: HAHAHA.
Caitlyn: That's about how that train of thought went.
Me: ...I think that needs to be posted.
Me: I won't post it to everyone.
Caitlyn: Ahahaha.
Caitlyn: I don't care.
Me: But... that's quote list worthy.
Caitlyn: I'm sleepy.
Caitlyn: And since it is my birthday, people will assume I had been drinking, probably.

Star Trek: So Far From Home
Today is Thanksgiving.

Today, I am thankful for my British friends. [info]never_ender, [info]zeppelinblue, [info]perrie, and [info]thespyglass. They all sympathize with me being far from home, and care about my travels. Especially Alix and Nick, for wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. It was really, really appreciated -- I am far from home on an important family day.

I am also thankful for the past three months. The ups, the downs, the ins, and outs. My calling isn't any clearer, but possible trivales of one possible road is. Thank you, Alone in London, for being understanding about that.

I am thankful for my flatmates. We managed to support each other these last three months. Sometimes the ranting held up the walls. Sometimes we were just supportive. And sometimes they looked the other way so I could cry in private.

I am thankful for my boyfriend. I am thankful that there is someone waiting for me. I love him, and he loves me, and I am looking forward to being held for a good long while. He has been an experienced voice of reason for me, telling me about his first hard weeks at Plexus. He always tries to fix my problems, and even though sometimes I don't want solutions -- I am thankful that he wants to help.

I am thankful for my best friend. She has taken care of the housing, and so we will be roommates again. I am thankful that I have someone who understands me so completely. I am looking forwarding to laying awake in our beds, talking about life, family, school, long after we should be asleep. I am looking forward to seeing you again.

I am thankful for my family. I am thankful that they're there for me, that they were willing to let me go across an ocean. That they miss me and want me back. That my sister admires me, that my brother wants to tell me about the console war. That my mother would give me anything in the world right now, now that I am coming home. That my dad tells me that he is proud of me.

2 Days until Italy.
9 Days until Home.
